We went to Nantwich (map) for a weekend break at the end of August and had a great time.  Good pubs and nice surroundings.  We stayed at a very good B&B with great breakfasts.  Here is the link to the B&B webpage.

I couldn't help taking this photo!  Not too secret is it??  Anyway, it is a museum and the details are here.  We went and it is very interesting looking at the "after effects" of a nuclear explosion.  Still scary, even if it is "ancient" history.

On the way home, we went to Shrewsbury on the Welsh border.  I have always wanted to visit as it has Shrewsbury Abbey which is the home of Brother Cadfael.  On this page, there is a mention of a memorial window to Edith Pargeter (Ellis Peters) being planned.  It is now complete.  We went on a Brother Cadfael walk which was very entertaining.
