This was the highlight of my trip to Florida in December 1998 (for work).  We had an afternoon off and I decided to go to Kennedy Space Centre, very impressive.  There were no launches scheduled while we were there, but even so, it is a very interesting place.  The reason the main booster is a red colour is that it is rusted!!  NASA found out that the paint weighed too much, so they left it bare!
